    Introducing our Brand New Extension!

We are delighted to introduce you to our brand new extension with this upstairs area now open here at Dental on the Banks! With this extension we now have an additional beautiful waiting area, an additional two state-of-the-art treatment rooms, new offices and an extra bathroom too!

When expanding our custom-built clinic, it was important for us to continue with the level of luxury, attention to detail and expertise that our patients know and expect from us. Therefore we ensured that like with our current client design, every aspect of the extension was custom designed so that our Passion for Perfection could extend into this new upstairs area. Of course the little details that our patients know and love – such as our complimentary bottles of Fiji water and signature Diptyque fragrance points – remain.

To establish a sense of continuity and flow, at the stairs we incorporated a lit-up marble wall emblazoned with our DOTB logo – just like what we have at our reception area on the ground floor. For the mezzanine waiting area, clear glass panelling was chosen to not only retain a light and airy feel but also to echo the open glass design of our ground floor consultation room. The waiting area itself incorporates leafy greens, vines and tendrils for a stylistic change from our standout blue tree from the ground floor waiting area. Perhaps most visually arresting is that of the walls in this area which feature a series of built out and recessed areas that are beautifully backlit, resulting in an eye-catching and tactile display of interior design prowess.

    Introducing our Brand New Extension!

Both of the new treatment rooms feature our thickly padded dental chairs, modern strip wall and ceiling lighting and were designed to be airy and spacious instead of cold and cramped. With two new offices and an additional bathroom upstairs too; this was a great example of both form and function combining to bring our patients the next level (quite literally!) of care and attention to detail to their teeth, smiles and oral health overall. Make sure to take a selfie next time you are in for a visit and tag @dentalonthebanks for a chance to be reposted on our social media!

    5 Signs of Healthy Teeth

While the appearance of your teeth and smile is part of your overall aesthetic, it can also show how healthy your teeth are too. Here we talk you through 5 signs of healthy teeth but know that you should book regular check-ups with your dentist (click / tap here to book) as they are your best option to monitor and enhance the health of your teeth.

    Tooth Colour
We all want a bright white smile and our premium teeth whitening is perfect to achieve this. But before you start your teeth whitening journey, you come to see us beforehand so we can check the health of your teeth and mouth. This is because discoloured / yellowing teeth can be an oral health sign to look out for – such as a buildup of plaque that may require a dental hygienist appointment before your teeth whitening can begin.

    Bad Breath
Nobody likes bad breath and apart from it being annoying and off-putting, it can also be a sign of your teeth and mouth health. For example, persistent bad breath could be caused by a cavity that you have – whether you know you have a cavity or do not realise it yet (i.e. it may be small and not causing you pain or at the very back of your mouth etc.). Bad breath can be an indicator of your oral health – so please raise this with your dentist if you suffer from it.

    No Cavities
Following the last point, having no cavities (also known as caries or tooth decay) is another sign of healthy teeth. Cavities are essentially small holes in your teeth that can get bigger over time if left untreated and cause serious problems with your teeth and mouth. Even the onset of a cavity is not ideal as it is permanent damage to your tooth enamel and so getting a filling as soon as possible is always best – before the roots of your teeth become affected.

    Strong Teeth
Do your teeth feel sore or even move a little when eating certain foods like biting into an apple for example? The strength of your teeth is also an indicator of their health. Our teeth are obviously there to help us chew and eat food, so if you are experiencing any discomfort when using your teeth – they may be weaker due to many different lifestyle and / or genetic factors. Discuss this at your check-up and our team can help to remove pain and discomfort.

    Strong Gums
As our teeth are literally rooted into our gums, gum health is hugely important too and should never be neglected. Signs to look out for include any pain or discomfort, bleeding and if the colour of your gums (or part of your gums) changes and gets lighter, darker or patchy. Just like teeth, gums can also experience health problems such as gingivitis and our specialist team can help here with the treatments we can offer here at Dental on the Banks.

While the above information is useful to be aware of, nothing beats your dentist checking your teeth and mouth to ensure they are healthy and to manage them if needs be. You can click / tap here to book in for a check-up here at Dental on the Banks!

Dental Sedation now Available at DOTB

We are delighted to announce that dental sedation is now available at Dental on the Banks for patients that request it. If you or someone you know is nervous about coming to the dentist, this is an ideal solution to keep you calm and comfortable. This is IV drip sedation meaning that the patient remains awake and comfortable during their dental treatment(s).

Dr. Jawaad (pictured below) administers this dental sedation and he is very experienced with many years of training in this discipline. He is a Harley Street registered anaesthetist and a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) with over a decade of anaesthesis and sedation experience. Dr. Jawaad is also currently completing an Executive MBA from the US. You can read much more about Dr. Jawaad’s extensive experience, education and training on our ‘Meet the Team’ page here.

This dental sedation is just one of many ways that we can cater to nervous patients when it comes to both routine (check-ups, fillings, extractions etc.) and complex (braces / Invisalign, root canals, dental implants etc.) treatments. Our team are also specially trained to deal with nervous and anxious teams. Our practice too was custom designed to be as comfortable as possible – with many patients remarking how it doesn’t even feel like coming to a dentist! This includes having ceiling-mounted TVs to watch Netlix during treatment, custom coffees and Fiji water bottles and even our signature Diptyque fragrance which beautifully perfumes the air (no traditional dentist smell here!).
