    Restorative Dentist in Poole

While we carry out a huge variety of dental and aesthetic treatments here, we are also a restorative dentist in Poole and can help with the function, health and appearance of your teeth and smile. Read on below to learn more about some of our most popular restorative dental treatments. All of these are carried out here in our custom-built clinic and you can click / tap here to get booked in with our specialist team!

    Crowns
A dental crown is a covering (often made from porcelain) to cover over and protect a damaged or affected tooth from any further damage or harm. A very common treatment, they are a great option to keep the majority of your natural tooth in place – just with a discreet, natural-looking camouflage to keep it looking and working like normal.

    Dental Bridges
If you are missing a tooth and especially if the gap is visible when you smile, a bridge may be the best option for you. This is where an artificial tooth (custom created to fit in with your smile) is used to literally bridge the gap and make it appear as if you have all of your natural teeth. There are different ways that these can be implemented depending on your case.

    Dentures
We are delighted to work in exclusive collaboration with Chris Wibberley who is one of the top denturists in all of the UK. He custom makes dentures for our patients which not only look amazingly natural and completely lifelike; but they are also made to perfectly and comfortably fit in your mouth at all times. The image above is an example of his outstanding work.

    Veneers
Known mainly as an aesthetic / cosmetic treatment, veneers are also an option if you need to restore parts or the entirety of your smile. Crafted custom per patient from the finest dental porcelain, veneers are priced per tooth and offer you a way to completely transform your smile to get your ideal smile aesthetic – while also restoring your confidence in smiling too!

    and more!
While the above points are among our most popular restorative treatments, we offer many more and our specialist team can come up with a bespoke treatment plan to help you. When it comes to your gums for example, you can book in for the likes of a gingivectomy, mucogingival surgery and more.

    Types of Composite Bonding

There are three main types of composite bonding possible to get you the smile aesthetic that you want and here at Dental on the Banks, we offer all three! These are composite bonding (also known as composite veneers), edge bonding and injection moulded composite bonding. Learn about all three types of composite bonding below:

    Composite Bonding
This is also known as ‘composite veneers’ or ‘cosmetic bonding’ and is the most popular type. It involves the use of the white filling material (known as composite) being applied to your natural tooth – quite like it being painted onto your teeth to make them more even and uniform in shape, size and style. Due to this, there is no damage to your natural teeth as there is no drilling or injections involved. You can see the results of this in the image above. Here at Dental on the Banks, this costs £399 per tooth.

    Edge Bonding
Like the name suggests, composite edge bonding is where just the edges of your teeth are treated. So if the edges of your teeth are quite uneven or jagged and not smooth, this is the ideal treatment for them. It targets and treats the edges of your teeth to finish them off with a sleek and straight appearance – building upon the uneven and jagged edges to make them uniform and straight. This is very popular with patients of all ages as it works to tweak the look of their smile just as they want it. You can see the results of this in the image above. Composite edge bonding at Dental on the Banks is £195 per tooth.

    Injection Moulded Composite Bonding
With this, our aesthetics dentists create a custom mould of your teeth and mouth and use this as the basis to plan exactly how you want your teeth to look. The mould is then edited to incorporate a fully new shape for your teeth and then during treatment, the mould is placed over your natural teeth so that the aesthetic dentist can inject the composite material into the ideal shapes of the mould. You can see the results of this in the image above. Injection moulded composite bonding is priced on a case-by-case basis as no two cases are ever the same.

Note: It is highly recommended that you complete teeth whitening before composite bonding (more information on teeth whitening here) so that the composite can be custom made to match this pearly white shade.

Reduce Your Smile Corridor With Invisalgin

The smile corridor (also known as the buccal corridor) is the black area that can be seen at the corners of your mouth. This can be more prominent in people who have a narrow upper jaw – resulting in these black corners being more noticeable and prominent when you smile. Our Invisalign specialists (Dr. Ramtin and Dr. Damon – officially among the top 300 Invisalign specialists in the world) can help to reduce your smile corridor with their expert use of Invisalign.

They can do this by planning your case in advance so that the clear and discreet aligners can work to not only straighten your teeth, but also to widen your jaw too. You can see the results of this with one of our patient cases above as when the patient’s Invisalign treatment has finished, there is much less of a visible smile corridor. As you may know, Dr. Ramtin and Dr. Damon can also use Invisalign to correct bite function and jaw misalignment – click / tap here to read more on this.

The below case showcases just how far our Invisalign specialists can plan your case and eventual smile to perfection. This patient presented with crowded teeth, a slanted smile, aspects of a gummy smile and very visible smile corridors. As you can see with the after result, all of these aspects have been rectified and there has been a beautiful and noticeable reduction of the smile corridor. The patient was absolutely delighted with her new smile and can now smile, talk and laugh with more confidence.
